The design

Odin · Valfather – the story behind it.

Odin is the Allfather of Norse myth, but this design shows his dark side: the Valfather (Valföðr), god of the fallen and of battle. He decides who falls in combat and gathers the bravest warriors – the Einherjar – in Valhalla. His ravens and battle wolves follow him, and his spear Gungnir decides entire battles. He gave up one eye at Mímir’s well for wisdom. Here Odin stands not as a gentle sage, but as god of war and the dead: depth, gravity and a power that tolerates no contradiction. The print captures this – a strictly frontal face made entirely of finely interwoven knotwork in the Urnes style. An ornate headband frames the face, beneath it the one remaining eye gazes alert and unrelenting, while the other eye stays in shadow. A long, braided beard flows down from the face. Every Odin shirt is made from heavyweight cotton and printed on demand in Germany using direct-to-garment (DTG) printing, so the filigree knotwork sits razor-sharp in the fibre. The fitted women’s cut comes in multiple colours; Gold / Silver and Emerald are available as a limited special edition.
Frequently asked questions

Good to know.

Who was Odin as Valfather?

Valfather (Old Norse Valföðr) is a byname of Odin as god of battle and of the fallen. He decides who falls in combat and takes the bravest warriors into Valhalla as Einherjar, where they are readied for the battle at Ragnarök. Ravens, battle wolves and his spear Gungnir belong to this dark, warlike side of the Allfather.

How does the women’s shirt fit?

The cut is fitted and gently follows the silhouette without feeling tight – ideal if you like a feminine fit. If you prefer a looser fit, just go one size up. You’ll find the exact measurements in the size chart right on the product page.

What fabric is the T-shirt made of?

We use heavyweight, OEKO-TEX® certified cotton with a pleasantly firm feel. It keeps the dense knotwork print clean, feels high-quality and stays true to shape even after many wears.

How do I care for the DTG print?

With direct-to-garment printing, the ink bonds firmly with the fibre instead of sitting on top. Wash the shirt inside out at 30 °C (86 °F) and never iron directly over the design – that keeps the fine Odin lines clear and vivid for a long time.

Which colours does the Odin design come in?

You can get the Valfather in multiple colours, preselected in blue; plus Gold / Silver and Emerald as a limited special edition. You can order directly here in our shop: choose colour and size, add to cart and pay securely via Mollie. Delivery to Germany in 3–5 working days, to Austria and France in 4–7 working days (Mon–Fri); statutory right of withdrawal: 14 days.
